Dennis Erb Racing Ready for FALS Frenzy on Heels of Sixth Place 411 Effort
(October 9, 2019)
Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team dipped down to the Southeastern states of Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee from October 3-5 for a trio of $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series shootouts. On Thursday night in the tripleheader opener at Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, Georgia, Dennis timed in sixth fastest overall during the qualifying session prior to grabbing the third transfer spot through his heat race. After rolling off from the inside of the fifth row in the 50-lap main event, Dennis wound up finishing right where he started... in the ninth position.

At the historic Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina on Friday evening in the inaugural running of the 'Mike Duvall Memorial,' Dennis placed second in his heat race and later drew the outside of the front row for the start of the 50-lapper. However, the Carpentersville, Illinois ace was unfortunately hung out on the outside during several restarts and eventually crossed the finish line twelfth following a late flat tire.

The tripleheader weekend then wrapped up on Saturday with a visit to 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, Tennessee. Dennis clicked off the sixteenth quickest time during qualifying, but later blasted up to third in his heat race before winding up sixth in the 50-lap headliner behind only victor Brandon Overton, Darrell Lanigan, Brandon Sheppard, Cade Dillard, and Shane Clanton. He still sits sixth in the national series point standings with only two WOOLMS battles at Charlotte remaining on the 2019 schedule. Dennis Erb Racing will stay much closer to home over the October 11-12 weekend, as they will venture to Fairbury Speedway in downtown Fairbury, Illinois for the annual running of 'FALS Frenzy.' Weather pending, the doubleheader weekend will kick off on Friday night at FALS with a $5,000 to win opener, while Saturday's 60-lap finale will boast a whopping $15,000 payday. Dennis picked up a $2,500 triumph at Fairbury back on June 29 and will be gunning for his fourth overall win of the 2019 campaign.
