Dennis Erb, Jr. Ready for Five-Race
Outlaws Stretch Following Soggy Illinois Speedweek
(May
13, 2026) A lucrative Illinois Speedweek was
on tap for Dennis Erb Racing from May 5-9, but Mother Nature
was a force in the Land of Lincoln during the week and a trio
of the events were wiped out by inclement weather. Two shows
escaped the rain starting on Wednesday, May 6 at Spoon River
Speedway in Banner, Illinois. The FloRacing Night in America
Series lid lifter drew a 39-car field to do battle for the $20,000
first place prize. Dennis Erb, Jr. finished sixth in his stacked
heat race, won his B-Main, and later advanced three spots during
the 50-lap main event to place fifteenth at the checkered flag.

On Saturday evening, May 9, the annual running of the 'FALS
Spring Shootout' took place at Fairbury Speedway in downtown
Fairbury, Illinois. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series once
again sanctioned the event, which drew 48 competitors to the
1/4-mile bullring to vie for the hefty $30,000 payday. Dennis
grabbed the fourth and final transfer spot through his heat
race prior to finishing fourteenth in the 60-lapper. Complete
results from both Illinois Speedweek races can be found online
at www.floseries.com
and www.lucasdirt.com.
The #28 team has ventured east for another huge week of racing
in the states of Delaware and Pennsylvania from May 13-17. World
of Outlaws Late Model Series action will start later tonight
at Georgetown Speedway before Dennis invades Selinsgrove Speedway,
Marion Center Raceway, and Bedford Speedway to round out the
hectic five-day stretch. The Carpentersville, Illinois standout
currently sits tenth in the latest version of the WOOLMS point
standings heading into the five races, which will all be shown
LIVE on DIRTVision.
